- 1). Eliminate vegetation that may interfere with your ability to paint the cement walkways using an edger.
- 2). Clean the cement walkways using a pressure washer. Focus concentrated water pressure on dirt wedged into tight cracks or fissures. Wait two to four hours for the concrete to dry.
- 3). Pour 2 gallons of porch paint into a 5-gallon bucket. Apply two coats of porch paint to the cement walkways using a roller affixed to an extension pole. Wait two hours between each coat.
- 4). Use a paintbrush to apply porch paint to any areas that proved inaccessible to the roller. Dab the paintbrush against the cement to force porch paint into deep cracks, fissures and seams. Wait four hours before stepping onto the walkway.
