How to Make Sugar Wax at Home
- 1). Combine sugar, water and juice in a sauce pan.
- 2). Attach the candy thermometer to the side of the sauce pan and do not allow the measuring end to come into contact with any metal.
- 3). Over low heat, slowly bring the mixture up to 250 degrees but do not allow it to boil. Stir the mixture constantly with a wood or silicone spoon to evenly distribute the heat.
- 4). Check the consistency. If it is too watery, add 1/4 cup of sugar to the mixture at a time and continue heating. Heat until it reaches the desired consistency.
- 5). Allow the mixture to cool slightly before pouring into the Mason jar. Use a tongue depressor or Popsicle stick to scrape as much of the wax as possible into the jar.
