Panic attacks are no fun at all and cause many people who suffer from them a lot of stress.
It's sometimes a very scary experience for those who are having the attack and those around the person that is having this episode of intense fear triggering the severe physical reactions of the panic attack.
Those experiencing the attack may feel like they are having a heart attack, losing control, and in worse cases even fell like they are dying.
So how do you stop a panic attack? First you need to identify what causes panic attacks.
Now some researchers say that there isn't an apparent reason for these attacks.
Having a family history of this disorder, stress, and changes in brain function is thought to play a role.
Other research says that these attacks can be triggered by a state of a person being out of control or physically threatened in a given situation.
The key here is to know what your surroundings may hold to spark a panic attack.
Next you need to know the signs of the attack that way when you start noticing them, you can take the necessary steps to try and stop the attack before it starts.
Some common signs are rapid heart rate, chest pain, shortness of breath, chills, trembling, dizziness, and tightness in your throat.
If you start to notice any of those symptoms, you need to start trying to relax.
Try breathing exercises that may calm you down.
Another way to stop these attacks is to take preventive measures like practicing stress management and relaxation techniques, avoiding alcohol and caffeine, staying physically active, maintaining a proper diet, and getting enough rest.
