How to Cut Shapes From Contact Paper
- 1). Cut the roll of contact paper into manageable sheets.
- 2). Turn the sheets of contact paper face down on a table.
- 3). Draw the desired shapes on the back of the adhesive backing with a permanent marker. You can use stencils or trace forms such as coffee cans to ensure that your shapes have perfect lines, corners and curves.
- 4). Cut out the shapes using a sharp pair of scissors. Never use dull scissors to cut contact paper as they can cause the plastic film to separate from the backing, resulting in a bad cut.
