    • 1). Open Adobe Flash and create a new document.

    • 2). Go to File from the menu bar and select Import to Stage to place your photo. Alternately, you can press Ctrl + R on your keyboard.

    • 3). Change the dimensions to fit the size of the photo. Go to Properties and change width and height.

    • 4). Lock layer and create a new one above it.

      Select the Line Tool from the tool bar, or Ctrl + V, and start outlining the image. Draw a small line. Select the Arrow Tool, or Ctrl + V. Hover the arrow over the live and you will see a small curve icon underneath the arrow. This indicates that you can now curve the line. While holding down the mouse, drag the line to curve to your needs. Continue outlining the entire image.

      Hide Layer 1 to see an outline of your image.

      Unhide Layer 1. Take the Color Picker from the tool bar, or Ctrl + I, and select the skin color from the photo. Select the Paint Bucket from the tool bar, Ctrl + K, and fill the outline with a skin color. Press Ctrl + A to select the entire image, and change the line color to a darker tone that complements the skin.

      Double click layer, and name it "Body" and lock it.

    • 9). Create a new layer, and start to outline the facial features, such as eyes, brows, lips and nose.

      Open up Color Mixer by going to Window on the Menu Bar and selecting Color Mixer. Alternately, you can press Shift + F9. Start filling eyes.

      Change fill color of eyes to suit your preferences. Add additional layers to add a pupil, a glare and eyelashes.

      Fill in lip color.

      Draw nose with a few lines. Change the alpha of the line color to 50 percent.

      Draw hair with a thicker brush. Change the size and shape of the brush on the tool bar. Create another layer to add detail to the hair with different sized brushes and highlighted color.

      Create a shadow of the image. Create a new layer. Select a big black brush and draw a silhouette behind the image. This gives the image dimension and style. Move this layer to the bottom of all the other layers.

      Create a background. First, create another layer. Start to draw circles on the layer with your round brush. Make them of varying sizes and colors. Select all by pressing Ctrl + A. Press F8 on your keyboard to create a movie clip.

      Go to Filters at the bottom of screen, and select the + button. Add Blur, and change the X and Y Blur to 50.

      Save the image by going to File from the menu bar and selecting Export Image. You can choose file type. This image is saved as .jpg.
