No matter what the environment throws at you, the Pentax K7 Camera is sturdy because it has a chassis that is reinforced and allows a firm grip. Even though a little heavier due to it's chassis, this camera remains light enough to easily transport. This model weighs 26.5 ounces (751g) including the card and battery,so that why it's not "noticably heavey" like some other DSLR's.
Finally, I wanted to be sure it was easy to get clear images The controls are on the right side; the AF mode and Four Ways Navigation is separate with the AF Button in the middle of the switch for easy control. The LCD is quite big so it's easy to see and get the best images. My Pentax K7 Camera is now a permanent addition to my travel kit and it's every bit as necessary as my laptop and cell phone.
