Homemade Cluster Ring

• To make one easy type of cluster ring you will need a few simple accessories that you can purchase from any craft store: beads, small gemstones, pearls or craft pearls, a ring base, glue gun and scissors. Use any ring base, but wire or natural-colored ring bases may be more attractive. Try on the ring base to check that it fits your finger comfortably.
  
  Select the material that you wish to use on your cluster ring. Place a small drop of glue onto one stone, bead or pearl and press it onto the ring base face. Repeat this step until you have arranged the material that you wanted on the ring and the base is completely covered. Leave it like that or arrange more beads on top of the stones or pearls. Allow the ring to dry until you can see that the glue is dried, which takes about 15 minutes or more. Trim away any excess dried glue that is noticeable.
  
  

Cluster Ring Kit

• Instead of going to a craft store to buy your cluster ring materials one by one, buy a cluster ring kit that includes everything you need. Buy cluster ring kits online, from craft books or in craft stores. They include materials such as freshwater pearls, small stones, adjustable beading ring and head pins. Cluster ring kits are another way to make cluster rings that require the use of wire cutters, chain-nose pliers and round-nose pliers. The kits cost about $16 to $29 as of early 2010 and include everything you need to make cluster rings except the tools.
  
  To make the cluster rings with the kits, poke the head pins through the gemstone chip beads and the freshwater pearls. Loop the bottom of head pins around the jump ring. Take the extra wire from the head pin and snip it so that it is a few centimeters long. Wrap the excess wire around the wire just under the pearl or gemstone until it is secure. Attach the jump ring to the top center of the ring base. Attach a combination of four gemstones or pearls to each jump ring. Use the pliers to secure the jump ring to the ring base by pinching the bottom of the jump ring closed.
