How to Make an Origami Lioness

104 1
    • 1). Place the colored side of the origami paper face down.

    • 2). Fold the top-right corner down to the bottom-left corner and unfold.

    • 3). Bring the top-right corner and bottom-left corner to the crease line while lining up the edges connecting from the top-left corner to the crease line. The paper will appear with a sharp tip at the top-left corner made up of two triangles.

    • 4). Fold the edges connecting at the bottom-right corner up to slightly overlap the side angle of the triangles that make up the sharp tip. Start with folding the edge on the right first.

    • 5). Fold the paper in half, down the crease.

    • 6). Bring the sharp tip at the top to the right, folding down to create a vertical crease at the left angle on the bottom edge.

    • 7). Split open the flaps of the sharp tip and use the diagonal crease lines on it to guide you in folding the sharp tip down to line up with the lower diagonal edges. The sharp tip will slightly dangle out from the bottom edge.

    • 8). Fold the sharp tip up to its underside midway on the shape. Also fold the left and right angles at the top of the shape to the backside to form two small triangles for the origami lioness' ears. Create a small margin and fold the two small triangles back up.

    • 9). Bring the sharp tip on the bottom-right to the left, and fold down right before the tip touches the edge making up the right side of the origami lioness' face. This will form the tail. Unfold the tail.

Fold the tail back to the left to form a crease on the right side of the other crease. The first crease will line up at the middle of the tail when you fold down. Unfold the tail.

    • 11

Slightly split open the bottom side and push down on the top edge of the tail to tuck it to the underside. Use the crease lines formed at the tail to guide you in creating smooth folds.

Pull the tip of the tail down and to the right to tuck it to the underside so that it points out. The folding of the origami lioness is complete. Add sticker googly eyes and/or use a black marker to draw the other facial features, including the nose and whiskers.
