• Insaniquarium is a puzzle game developed by PopCap Games. The player is given a fish tank with several fish already in it. The player must periodically feed these fish in order to keep them alive. In return the fish give the player money. This money is used to buy more fish, pets and tank upgrades.
  
  

Pet Selection

• An important aspect of strategy in Insaniquarium is pet selection. There are 24 pets in the game, but the player can choose only three to seven depending on the game mode and tank upgrades. Each pet has a useful function, but some pets are not necessary in every level of the game. The one pet that is always good to have is Presto. His special ability is to change into any other pet in the game. Prego is a solid choice because she periodically gives guppies for free, which is handy in any game mode. Amp and Shrapnel are not worth using. The benefits each gives are not sufficient to overcome the negative aspect that both of these pets can kill your fish.
  
  

Carnivores

• Carnivores are a useful type of fish to create despite their need to eat guppies as food. Instead of the smaller coin drop of guppies, Carnivores drop diamonds. This means the extra cost to feed these fish guppies is covered by the money they drop. Medium and large guppies cannot be eaten by Carnivores, only the less valuable baby guppies. It is a good investment to buy a Carnivore or two for extra money.
  
  

Aliens

• Players need to watch for aliens in every game mode of Insaniquarium. There is some advance wanting before the aliens appear. The amount of damage an alien can do will be a serious setback in this game. It is a better strategy to let your fish starve to death while you focus on killing the alien as opposed to the reverse. Simply clicking on the alien will allow the player to attack it. It is not a good idea to leave the game unattended for extended periods of time for this reason.
  
  

Unlocking Items

• Most of the content in Insaniquarium is not initially available at the start of the game. It must be first unlocked in Adventure Mode before it can be used in the other game modes. It is a good idea to play through and finish Adventure Mode before playing the other gameplay modes. This will ensure you have access to all the fish, pets and tank upgrades for playing the more difficult Time Trial and Challenge Mode levels.
  
  

Santa Fish

• The Virtual Tank in Insaniquarium has an Easter egg fish that is useful for players to create. Name a new fish "Santa" to spawn the Santa Fish. The advantage of creating this fish is that it drops bags containing 20 shells rather than the normal money it would drop otherwise.
