- 1). Place a drop cloth, such as plastic bags or a tarp, under the tub, and put on the plastic gloves. Fill tub with enough hot water to allow the fabric to move freely.
- 2). Put the clothing in the tub, then add the dye according to package instructions. Stir constantly for 10 to 30 minutes.
- 3). Remove the clothes from the tub and rinse them in warm water, gradually adjusting the water to be cooler and cooler until the water runs clear. Allow the clothing to air dry.
- 4). Clean the tub immediately with chlorine bleach or a chlorine-based powder or liquid.
