How to Cover Blemishes Effectively
- 1). Wet a soft washcloth with warm water and wash your face gently. Do not scrub too hard as you can cause the blemishes to appear a brighter red, which is more difficult to cover.
- 2). Allow your face to air dry.
- 3). Wash your hands with antibacterial soap and dry them with a clean towel. According to Kevyn Aucoin, author of "Making Faces," you should always wash your hands before touching your face to avoid causing additional blemishes.
- 4). Dip the tip of your index finger into a cream foundation matching the color of your skin. Apply the foundation to the blemishes your wish to cover. Feather the foundation around the blemish to smooth and blend the color in with the rest of your skin. Wash your hands when you are done.
- 5). Dust your entire face with a finishing powder that matches, or is slightly lighter than, your skin tone. This evens the overall color, disguising the applied foundation.
