- 1). Start the game. "Snake" starts simply enough, with your digital snake making turns and going through the field. Do not run into any walls or anything else that halts your progress.
- 2). Eat apples as they appear. Each apple you eat will grow your snake bigger and bigger. At first, this is simple to maneuver around, but you must be more careful as you get longer.
- 3). Move in tight rows or columns. This is the cheating part. When your snake gets long enough that potentially running into you own tail becomes a problem, you must move in a pattern that takes your snake in rows or columns -- laying one coil right alongside the other, in tight turns. Ideally, you should take up no more than 1/4 to 1/2 of the screen doing this. Otherwise, you risk boxing yourself in.
