How to Make Artificial Frost
- 1). Add 1 1/2 cups of water to a heatproof container. Put the container on the stove and bring it to a boil.
- 2). Gradually add Epsom salts to the boiling water. Add the salt a spoonful at a time and stir until the salt is dissolved. Once the mixture won't take any more salt, and you can see the salt settling to the bottom of the water, stop adding it.
- 3). Add liquid dish washing detergent to the mixture. A single squirt should be enough. Turn off the heat and stir the mixture as it cools.
- 4). Paint the mixture onto a window with a paintbrush or a sponge. As the mixture dries, crystals of salt will form, causing a frost-like pattern to emerge.
