Instructions for Do-It-Yourself Painting Plastic Tableware
- 1). Wash the plastic tableware with dish soap. Rinse the tableware with wet rags and dry it with towels.
- 2). Promote adhesion by abrading the clean plastic tableware with a fine-grit sandpaper. Scour the tableware until it feels slightly rough.
- 3). Place the tableware on a fabric drop cloth.
- 4). Coat the abraded plastic tableware with plastic adhesion spray primer. Hold the can 8 inches from the tableware as you apply. Wait 2 hours for the primed tableware to dry.
- 5). Apply craft paint to the primed tableware, using craft brushes. Wait 2 hours for the painted tableware to dry.
- 6). Coat the finished plastic tableware with paint-on plastic spray gloss. Hold the can 8 inches from the tableware as you apply. Wait 6 hours before handling the tableware.
