- 1). Place the bucket filled with tap water near your countertop ozone generator.
- 2). Connect the plastic hose to the output of your generator, then connect the diffuser stone to the other end of the hose.
- 3). Place the diffuser stone into the bucket of water. Turn on the ozone generator and allow the ozonated air to be diffused into the tap water for at least 20 minutes.
- 4). Turn off the ozone generator and remove the diffuser stone.
- 5). Use the ozonated water quickly by washing fruit, vegetables or other surfaces you wish cleaned with the water and clean rags. Direct contact with water containing a high level of dissolved ozone will allow a percentage of the ozone to oxidize (burn or kill) any organisms on the surface.
Ozone has a short half-life (breaks back into oxygen), so there will only be traces of ozone remaining in the water 30 minutes after you have treated it. - 6). Refill the bucket with more tap water and repeat the ozonation treatment process if you still have food or kitchen, bathroom or other surface areas you wish to disinfect with ozonated water after 30 minutes.
