- 1). Measure the door frame that you intend to fit your new noise-deadening door to.
- 2). Visit your local hardware store and buy a thick MDF exterior door that will fit into your frame as snugly as possible. Do not buy a door with recessed paneling. You'll also need to buy any door furniture or hinges you require.
- 3). Measure where your hinges need to be installed and then drill screw holes in your door and door frame. Then, insert rawl plugs into the holes you've drilled and screw your new door into place. You'll also need to install any additional door furniture you've bought.
- 4). Stick high-density foam tape around your door frame at the point where your door meets it. Make sure the permiter of your door frame is completely covered with tape to create an air tight seal.
- 5). Screw a rubber door sweep seal to the bottom of your door for extra protection.
