Grow Longer Eyelashes – 5 Mistakes That Kill Eyelash Growth
The best way to make eyelashes longer is to avoid damaging them or causing them to fall out. Here are the 5 dangerous mistakes that don't help you grow longer eyelashes.
1. Going to bed without removing mascara. This is common and I admit I'm guilty of this one. Mascara tends to harden when it's dry. Rubbing your face on the pillow at night could rip out a few eyelashes. Don't do it.
2. Rubbing your eyes too much. I know it sounds obvious, but this is one of the most common reasons why eyelashes fall out. Eyelashes are the most delicate hairs we have. The less you touch them, the stronger they'll become and the more they will grow.
3. Not moisturizing. Your eyelashes need to be moisturized as often as your skin. This is especially important after removing your makeup. Most makeup removers tend to dry out and weaken eyelashes. So, try to moisturize as much as possible and especially after removing makeup. What I usually do is apply vitamin E oil to my lashes after moisturizing for extra support and shine.
4. Using curlers. If you truly want to make your eyelashes longer, don't curl them. It's eyelash torture. If you must curl your lashes, be gentle. Here's how to curl lashes: press down gently at the base of your eyelashes, but not too close to the eyelid for 6 seconds. Continue pressing gently as you work your way out to the ends for 6 seconds each time. If you heat your curler, make sure it's warm to the touch, not scorching. Use only metal curlers with a soft rubber press.
5. Poor diet. It's important to have a well-balanced diet. Your body needs vitamins and minerals for healthy skin and hair. Proteins are crucial to make eyelashes longer since eyelashes are 91% protein. Also, drink plenty of water. As apparent as that sounds, your eyelashes can't grow without it.
