    • 1). Open the hood and locate the two-belt routing diagram that is stamped to the top of the radiator shroud. Use the routing instructions to route the new fan belt around the accessory pulleys.

    • 2). Locate the belt tensioner for the fan belt on the upper left hand side of the fan belt pulley. Position a breaker bar and a metric socket onto the bolt head in the center of the pulley that is attached to the end of the belt tensioner.

    • 3). Turn the breaker bar in a clockwise direction to loosen the tension from the belt. Hold the breaker bar in the clockwise position and pull the belt off of the tensioner pulley. Slowly release the breaker bar.

    • 4). Pull the belt out of the cooling fan pulley, alternator pulley, power steering pump pulley and the crankshaft pulley. Slide the belt around the fan blades and up out of the engine compartment.

    • 5). Route the new fan belt around the fan blades and around the accessory pulleys as exactly directed by the belt routing diagram.

    • 6). Turn the tensioner in a clockwise direction with the breaker bar and socket again. Slide the new fan belt around the tensioner and slowly release the breaker bar.

    • 7). Turn the ignition key to the accessory position for about ten seconds to heat the glow plugs. After the ten seconds, crank the diesel engine for ten to fifteen seconds to completely seat the ribs of the new fan belt to the grooves of each accessory pulley. Turn the engine off.
