How to Take Off Window Handles
- 1). Wedge the blade of a screwdriver between the door panel and crank handle.
- 2). Look for a small retaining clip between the door and the crank. If you can't see the clip, move the screwdriver to the other side of the window crank and look again for the clip. Continue searching for the clip with the screwdriver until you locate it.
- 3). Start stuffing a rag between the crank and the door panel opposite the location of the retaining clip's loop. Pull the rag back and forth while applying pressure toward the the clip's loop.
- 4). Continue pulling the rag back and forth and toward the spindle until the pin pops loose or you're able to reach it with a set of needle nose pliers.
- 5). Pull the clip free with the pliers, then slide the crank directly away from the door panel.
