- 1). Wash the vehicle with car-wash soap and a soft sponge. Make sure the entire painted surface is very clean. Rinse thoroughly and dry the car with a chamois.
- 2). Pour a small amount of liquid compound onto a clean buffing pad. Begin at the top and front of the car and work your way down and to the rear. Apply more liquid compound as needed.
- 3). Buff the car using light pressure on the buffer, moving in circular motions and being careful not to keep the rotating pad in one area for more than a few seconds. Do this until the entire car is buffed.
