- 1). Fill a spray bottle with warm water.
- 2). Spray the bottom border of the wallpaper border, starting at a seam. If you need a ladder to reach the wallpaper, ask someone to hold the ladder while you work.
- 3). Wait several minutes for the water to soak into the wallpaper, and then gently take the paper off the wall, using a plastic scraper. Scrape from the bottom up.
- 4). Place the end of a clothing steamer on one portion of the wallpaper if the warm water did not loosen the paper. Steam one section of the wallpaper at a time. When the paper is loosened, gently pull or scrape the paper off the wall.
- 5). Moisten a sponge with apply cider vinegar or commercial wallpaper remover, and wipe any areas that will not come loose. Also wipe any areas where there's still adhesive. Let the vinegar or commercial wallpaper remover set for several minutes before scraping away what's left.
- 6). Discard the paper, and rinse the area with a clean, moist rag.
