How to Make Face Cream Using Rosehip Oil
- 1). Mix about 1 tbsp. rosehip oil with 12 drops each of your other favorite oils. Grapeseed oil is good for moisturizing, chamomile is anti-inflammatory and walnut oil tones your skin. Stir these together well and set aside.
- 2). Melt about 1/2 cup beeswax in a metal saucepan that you only use for this purpose and stir in about 1 tbsp. soy lecithin. The beeswax will be the creamy part, while the soy lecithin helps bind the oil and wax.
- 3). Mix in the oil mixture, stirring constantly. Still stirring, pour the mixture into a glass jar. Leave the jar open and allow the mixture to cool, then seal it and set it in a cool, dry place. It should last for about two weeks.
- 1). Substitute a base cream for beeswax and soy lecithin for an easier face cream. Use an unscented lotion with an oatmeal or other grain base. An organic mixture is best.
- 2). Mix the oils in a separate bowl. Pour them over the dollop of lotion and mix well, whipping the oil in as you would whip egg whites. Mix until the oils are no longer visible.
- 3). Scrape the mixture into a jar and store in a cool dry place. The ingredients may separate but do not worry, just mix them back in with a wooden spoon or stirring stick.
