    • 1). Wrap several layers of painter's tape around the shower arm and the base of the head so you do not scratch them with the pliers. Also wrap the ends of the power sprayer connector. The painter's tape will provide protection and remove easily.

    • 2). Grasp the shower arm with a pair of slip-joint pliers and hold it stationary. Use another pair of slip-joint pliers to turn the shower head counterclockwise until it is loose enough to remove by hand.

    • 3). Clean all the threads with steel wool to remove mineral deposits and other debris. Wrap all exposed threads with Teflon tape clockwise to help seal the connections.

    • 4). Thread the power shower connector onto the shower arm by hand to ensure it does not cross-thread. Tighten the connector using the two slip-joint pliers method you used to remove the shower head from the arm. Do not over-tighten the connector or you may strip it.

    • 5). Hold the power sprayer connector with a pair of slip-joint pliers and thread the shower head onto the other end of it by hand. Tighten the shower head using a second pair of slip-joint pliers. Remove all the painter's tape from the different parts.
