How to Lay Allure Vinyl Flooring
Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Use your hammer and pry bar to take off the floor trim from around the edges of the room. Keep it intact and set it aside.
2
Lay the first Allure vinyl panel in one corner of the floor, with the long side of the panel along the starting wall and the short side along the perpendicular wall. Put plastic spacers between the panel and the walls, to create a small gap there that will allow the vinyl to expand with temperature changes.
3
Snap additional tiles off the end of the first one, along the long wall. Put spacers along the whole wall as you lay them.
4
Cut the last panel in the line to fit against the far wall. Make the cut by marking the panel at the size you want, laying the square across it, running a razor knife alongside the square to score it, then snapping the panel.
5
Set the next course in place next to the first one. Arrange the panels so the ends are staggered between courses.
6
Work your way across the whole floor course by course. Cut the panels length-wise to fit along the ending wall, leaving about ¼ inch of space there.
7
Reinstall the floor trim, using a trim nailer. Nail it to the walls, not the floor. The trim should cover the gaps by the walls.
