- 1). Set the dolly upright. Dollies that can be converted to lay flat and roll on four wheels should be set with the lift platform and only the two main wheels on the ground.
- 2). Place one or two heavy boxes of books on the lift platform. The boxes need not be filled with books, but should be filled with objects that will not crumble under the weight of a person. Set the boxes flush against the back of the dolly. This will serve to hold the dolly in place so that the brace is safe for an occupant to lean back against, and it will also form the base of the seat. Do not stack the boxes so high that the dolly will tip over.
- 3). Set a cushion on the boxes and against the brace. The hand truck can now be comfortably used as a chair. Sit and take the load off your feet!
