Cheap Ways to Customize Your Car
- Seat covers are inexpensive and add flair.
A car's interior contains dozens of small trim panels. Most of your interior trim panels can be easily removed and modified. One of the most inexpensive ways to modify a car interior is to paint the dashboard or some of the interior trim panels. Some owners like to match bits and pieces of their interior to the exterior by painting it the same color. Use a high-quality plastic paint to customize your interior, but never paint the panels while they are in the car---always remove them to avoid getting paint on other parts, such as your upholstery.
Upholstery covers, such as seat covers, are another cheap interior customization. Even if you choose an expensive seat cover, such as a custom leather cover, seat covers are much less expensive than re-upholstering your seats. - Car wraps are a cheaper alternative to paint.
A good alternative to a custom paint job is a vehicle wrap. A wrap is a large decal that adheres to your vehicle. Unlike a paint job, a wrap can be removed if you desire. Starting around $500, vehicle wraps may not be affordable for everyone, but they are much less expensive than a typical custom paint job, which can cost $4000 to $6000. If a vehicle wrap isn't in your budget, consider custom decals. Rather than covering your interior vehicle, decals would be placed in particular locations, resulting in a much lower price.
A grille cover is another way to customize your exterior. A grille cover gives the illusion of a custom grille by installing directly over your factory grille. Prices start at about $60, roughly a quarter of the price of a custom grille.
