    Comcast DVR Universal Remote

    • 1). Turn on your television to ensure that you are correctly programming your Comcast remote to your television. If you are programming your Comcast remote to a different device, such as a DVR box or DVD player, be sure to turn on your device.

    • 2). Locate the manufacturer code for your device in the Comcast Universal Remote Control user guide. If you do not have a copy of the manual, you can locate a copy of the user guide on Comcast's website.

    • 3). Press the "TV" button on your remote if you would like to program the remote to your television. If you want to program your remote to your cable box, press the "Cable" button on your remote. To program the remote to a DVD player, press the "AUX" button on your remote.

    • 4). Press and hold the "Setup" button until the red light on your remote blinks twice then release the "Setup" button.

    • 5). Enter the five-digit manufacturer's code for your device. If you entered the correct code, the red light on your remote will blink twice. Depending on your device's brand, there may be more than one possible programming code. If you do not see the blinking light, enter a different manufacturer's code.

    • 6). Point the Comcast remote toward the device you are trying to program then press the "Power" button on your remote. Your device should turn off if it was successfully programmed.

    • 7). Repeat each step to program your Comcast remote to additional electronic devices.

    Comcast DTA Remote

    • 1). Turn on your television to ensure successful programming.

    • 2). Locate the manufacturer's code for your television in the Comcast DTA Remote manual. If you do not have a copy of the manual, you can view the guide on Comcast's website.

    • 3). Press and hold the "SET" button on your remote until the red light blinks twice then release the button.

    • 4). Enter your television's manufacturer's code on your remote. The red light will blink twice if you have entered the correct code. If you did not enter the correct code, enter a different manufacturer's code of your television brand. Depending on the brand, Comcast may provide multiple codes.

    • 5). Point the DTA remote at your television and press the "Power" button. If you have successfully programmed the remote to your television, the television will turn off.
