How to Design a Complete Skateboard

    • 1). Create a stencil of a design you like by cutting through the middle of a sheet of cardboard. Place the stencil on the bottom of a blank deck or on the grip tape, securing the edges with tape to make sure the design does not move.

    • 2). Spray paint the cut-out section on the skateboard. Make sure you are in a well-ventilated area and let the paint dry thoroughly.

    • 3). Remove the stencil from the skateboard deck or grip tape. If you stenciled the grip tape, peel off the paper from the back of it and apply the tape to the top of the skateboard deck. Use a box cutter to cut off any extra tape from the edges of the deck.

    • 4). Insert the hardware bolts through the eight holes at the top of the skateboard deck. At the bottom of the deck, place one truck on each set of four bolts and fit a nut onto each of the bolts. Hold the nuts in place with the skate tool and tighten the screws with the screwdriver.

    • 5). Insert two bearings into each of the four wheels with the knob of the skate tool. Put two wheels on the sides of each of the trucks. Put a nut over each of the four wheels and tighten with the skate tool.

    • 6). Peel off the paper backing from the stickers and place them under the trucks on the bottom of the skateboard deck.
