How to Install a 10 Inch Speaker Into a Speaker Box

104 3
    • 1). Place the speaker box on a clean work surface with the hole for the speaker pointing up. Place the speaker in the speaker box, and align it to your preference, paying attention to any visible logos on the speaker. Mark the mounting holes in the speaker to the wood.

    • 2). Take the speaker out of the box. Find a wood drill bit that is the same diameter as the core of the wood screws and insert the bit into the screw. Drill holes in the box with the drill at the pencil marks made in step 1. Blow off any dust from the box, or use a vacuum.

    • 3). Place the gasket for the speaker on the box, aligning the holes in the gasket with the holes in the box. Pull the speaker wires out from the box and connect the red or positive wire to the (+) positive terminal on the speaker. Connect the black or negative wire to the (-) negative terminal on the speaker.

    • 4). Lower the speaker into the box, lining it up as you did in step 1. Use the Phillips-head drill attachment and slowly drill the screw into the box, holding the screw steady so the bit doesn't slip and puncture the speaker surround. Repeat around the perimeter of the speaker until all mounting screws are installed.
