How to Store Orca Wetsuits
- 1). Soak the wetsuit in a tub of warm, fresh water for about 15 minutes. Make sure the water temperature is not above 120 degrees F.
- 2). After soaking the wetsuit, hose it off with fresh water. Saltwater and chlorine can damage the wetsuit over time, making it less flexible.
- 3). Hang the wetsuit on a thick plastic hanger and leave all the zippers undone until it is completely dry. Thick wetsuit hangers are available at dive shops and other wetsuit retailers.
- 4). Choose a cool, dark, dry place where your wetsuit will be safe from UV rays and direct sunlight. After a few years, a neoprene wetsuit will stretch out and break down if exposed to direct sunlight.
- 5). Whenever possible, lay your wetsuit flat for storage. This will keep it from getting a permanent crease. If laying it flat is not a viable option, keep your wetsuit on a thick hanger for storage. The hanger should easily support the weight of the wetsuit. The heavier your suit, the thicker the hanger should be.
