How to Reset a Used iPod

    • 1). Reset an iPod Touch by simultaneously pressing and holding in the "Sleep/Wake" button (located at the top ridge of the device) and the "Home" button (the square on the Touch's face) until the screen displays the Apple logo.

    • 2). Reset an iPod Classic by laying it down on a flat surface and then flicking the "Hold" switch (on the top ridge of the iPod) on and off in rapid succession. Then simultaneously press and hold in the "Menu" button and the "Select" button (both are located on the click wheel) until the screen displays the Apple logo. Try not to let any time pass between switching on and off the "Hold" switch and when you depress and hold the "Menu" and "Select" buttons.

    • 3). Reset an iPod Nano or iPod Mini by laying it down on a flat surface and the turning the "Hold" switch (on the top of the iPod) on and off in rapid succession. Then simultaneously press and hold in the "Menu" button and the "Select" button (both are on the click wheel) until the screen displays the Apple logo. Keep holding these buttons in for at least 10 seconds.

    • 4). Reset an iPod Shuffle by disconnecting it from the USB dock and then sliding the switch on the top ridge of the Shuffle to "Off" so that you can no longer see the green stripe underneath. After five seconds, slide it back to "On" so that you can see the green stripe.
