How to Downgrade iPod Touch
- 1). Download the iOS firmware version you want to downgrade to your computer. You can find a link to previous iOS firmware versions in the resources section of this article.
- 2). Open the iTunes program on your computer.
- 3). Attach the iPod Touch data cable to the port located at the bottom of your iPod Touch device. Connect the other end of the data cable to an available USB port on your computer.
- 4). Select your iPod Touch device from the list of "Devices" on the left-hand side of the iTunes window.
- 5). Press and hold the "Option/Alt" key on your computer and click the "Restore" button. Select the firmware file you downloaded to your desktop in Step #1. Click "OK."
- 6). Wait for iTunes to sync with your iPod Touch device. When the process is complete, iTunes will prompt you that it is safe to remove the iPod Touch from the data cable.
