• 1). Arrange seating based on your furniture, room size and family needs. A sectional sofa provides maximum seating in a family room. It can be placed in the middle of a room, leaving the walls free from furniture. A couch with a coffee table creates a more compact seating arrangement. • 2). Position the television in the center of the room. Since the room is often used as a gathering place to watch television, if you have one it should be located where it can be viewed by all in the room.
