One of the best ways to get around this pressure is to provide the journalists with a well written press release that can just be printed as an article.
However, this will not alleviate the successful artist/band from having to deliver some form of interviews.
Live interviews are very strange because once you have uttered your words you cannot take them back.
More importantly most of the interviews will be recorded which means what has been said may be archived for years and repeated often.
So here are 3 keys that will help you prepare for live interviews:

• Write Out The Common Questions You May Be Asked And Answer Them.
  Most radio interviews run along particular formats.
  Although you can ask the presenter to send you likely questions or if they have one, a planned script.
  Most interviewers will probably not do so as their questions tend to be "Off the cuff.
  " So here are some questions to think about:
  1. Who are you musical influences or where do you get your influences from?
  2. What has been your musical journey?
  3. How did this particular song come about?
  4. Who are your favourite artists?
  5. Where do you see yourself musically in 5 years?
  6. Who do you think you sound like?
  7. How has your life outside the music business affected your recordings?

Once who think up the questions you might be asked, you then need to write out the answers you may want to give.
Remember that your answers are part of your image and people like or dislike you based on what you say, not only how you dress.
Give thought to your answers so that you can communicate because it is the greatest opportunity for you to promote yourself!

• Rehearse Your Answers In Front Of A Mirror.
  The same way you prepare for a stage performance by dancing if front of the mirror is the same way you should prepare for an interview.
  This will not only help to deliver the best possible answers effectively but it will prepare you for television also.
  

Most of the artists we see on TV actually spend hours in coaching.
Watch the way politicians sit, move, and speak; understand that their deliveries are intentional.
They always say what they want people to hear.
In the same way our voice must be well projected, without mumbling and delivered with great posture.

• Do Mock Interviews With A Friend.
  Get a friend who can advise you and let them interview you for 10-20 minutes.
  If possible video your responses and go over them.
  You want to find out the following:
  1. Bad habits.
     Clicking, banging or any other nervous movements that are distracting.
     
  2. Tone.
     People react differently when under stress.
     Some will sweat profusely while others mumble their words; some talk faster and others squeak.
     Which one are you?
  3. Good Points.
     What is it you do well? This is an important factor because it will help you know what aspects you need to emphasize and build upon!
