How to Make Lymphatic Massage Oil

104 15
    • 1). Sterilize a 16-oz. glass bottle with a tight fitting metal lid for making and storing your lymphatic massage oil. To sterilize the bottle, place it and the lid in a pot of water and bring to a boil. Allow the water to boil for a few minutes and then turn off the heat. Once the water has cooled, remove the jar and the lid and leave upside down to drain.

    • 2). Place a funnel in the mouth of the sterilized bottle and measure in 1/4 cup of dried echinacea, 1/4 cup of dried cleavers and 2 tbsp. of dried pokeweed. All three of these herbs are used internally and externally to stimulate the lymphatic system, detox the skin and body and to heal and soothe irritated skin.

    • 3). Fill the bottle up to 1 inch from the top with your choice of oils. Use grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil or even extra virgin olive oil, depending on your personal preference. Seal the lid tightly and leave the bottle in a cool, dry place for 2 full weeks.

    • 4). Strain the herbs from the oil several times with a piece of fine cheesecloth to remove all of the fine particles. Make sure that all of the utensils you use while straining have been sterilized.

    • 5). Add 20 drops of your favorite essential oil to the bottle. Shake the oil gently before using. Store your massage oil in the refrigerator and use within about 3 months.
