How to Disable a Chapman Car Alarm in a Saturn

104 3
    • 1). Disconnect the negative (black) cable from your Saturn's battery. Unlike many vehicles, the Saturn's battery is in the trunk of the car under the spare tire compartment. This will prevent any shock-injury from occurring while disabling the Chapman alarm from your Saturn.

    • 2). Locate the body of the alarm on the driver's side under the dashboard. The alarm is a small box-shaped object with metal sides and small holes on the cover. There will be two thin cords extending out of the alarm shell and reaching toward the front of the car.

    • 3). Open the hood of your car and look behind your Saturn's engine on the driver's side. You should see the siren part of the alarm, which will be a metal square object attached to the same cords you saw coming from the body of the alarm under your dash.

    • 4). Disconnect the cords at whichever point they connect the siren to the actual alarm box. In some Saturns, the clamp-like connection is closer to the siren area behind the engine, but in other Saturns it is clamped at the alarm-body end.

    • 5). Reconnect the black cable on your Saturn's battery and close the trunk and hood of your car. Your Chapman car alarm is now successfully disconnected from your Saturn.
