How Do I Transfer Music to My Ipod?

104 2

    Connecting the iPod

    • Connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable. Open the iTunes program if it does not automatically start once you plug in your iPod. Verify that your iPod is properly connected to your computer before you begin adding music. Under "Devices" in the left side of the iTunes window, locate your iPod by its name. This will confirm that it has been successfully hooked up to the computer.

    Locating Music Files

    • Locate the music files you wish to transfer. Click on "Music" under Library in the left side of the iTunes window. This will bring up all of your downloaded music. Here, you can sort through your songs by Artist, Time, Album, Song, Genre or Rating by clicking on any one of them on the top bar. Click on any song to highlight it and select it for transferring. Hold down the "Shift" key and click on all of the songs you want to transfer to select more than one song at once.

    Transferring Music Onto the iPod

    • Click and drag the songs onto the device. Locate the iPod under "Devices" again on the left side of iTunes, and move the songs over the iPod icon. Drop them, and they will begin to transfer onto the player. To watch the progress, view the Song Window at the top of the iTunes program. Do not disconnect your iPod while it is syncing--this may result in a loss of data.
