How to Braid Tightly
- 1). Wait for your hair to dry. Working with wet hair can result in more split ends. Once your hair is dry, you can comb out any knots.
- 2). Apply a hair gel that contains the ingredient aloe vera. The gel will smooth out the hair to make braiding easier while the aloe vera provides nutrients to the hair.
- 3). Separate the hair into sections if you want more than one braid. For example, pigtails would require the hair be separated into two sections.
- 4). Take the section of hair you wish to braid in your hands and create three equal strands out of it.
- 5). Cross the right section of hair over the center section so it now becomes the new center section. When that is complete, cross the left section of hair over the new center section so it now becomes the center section.
- 6). Repeat crossing the right sections over the center sections and then the left sections over the center sections, but always keep your hands just under the last cross over so the braid remains tight. If your hands are too far down, the braid will become loose.
- 7). Secure the bottom of the braid with a hair tie so it doesn't come loose once you've finished braiding.
