How to Knit a Twisted Scarf
- 1). Cast on 40 stitches.
- 2). Double each cast-on stitch for Row 1 by knitting in the back and then the front of each knit loop; there will be 80 stitches at the end of this row.
- 3). Double each stitch again for Row 2 by knitting twice in each stitch from Row 1; the stitch count should be 160 stitches.
- 4). Repeat Row 2 in Row 3, doubling each stitch for a total knit stitch count of 320.
- 5). Double each stitch in the row for Row 4; the end stitch count will be 640.
- 6). Bind off all stitches loosely.
- 7). Sew the two scarf ends together with a length of yarn on a tapestry needle. Thread the needle with a 16-inch length of yarn, pulling the yarn half through the joined scarf ends. Repeat until there are 12 8-inch lengths of yarn hanging from the joined scarf end. Tie beads at random intervals along the length of the yarn ends.
