The Location of Dodge Ram Components
- 1). Lift the hood, supporting the component with the hood rod.
- 2). Examine the driver's side in the upper engine area.
- 3). Locate the side of the cylinder head, where the distributor is positioned. The ignition control module is mounted on the distributor.
- 1). Examine the front seating area in the driver's side.
- 2). Look under the dash for a fuse block, identifiable as a blue, purple or orange colored plastic body with prongs attached on two sides that fit into sockets.
- 3). Locate the flasher mounted above the fuse block.
- 1). Lift the Dodge Ram onto jack stands in order to keep the Ram elevated.
- 2). Move below the vehicle on the driver's side, below the seating area.
- 3). Locate the fuel tank and examine the fuel line. Mounted on the frame rail is the vehicle's fuel filter.
- 1). Lift and support the hood using the support hood rod, located in the front of the engine.
- 2). Examine the center of the engine, focusing on the upper engine area.
- 3). Locate the top of the engine, searching for the valve cover. Positioned on the valve cover is the PCV valve.
- 1). Lift and support the Ram's hood by raising the hood support rod and connecting the component into the hood's underside latch.
- 2). Locate the driver's side of the engine, focusing on the front side of the shock tower.
- 3). Identify the fender well. The starter is positioned on top of the fender well.
