- 1). Position the pipe stencil over the pipe fitting you are going to label.
- 2). Trace inside the letters and numbers you need to use for labeling the fitting, moving the stencil around as necessary. For example, if your fitting needs to be labeled as "ZX24Y," then trace out a "Z," and move the stencil accordingly to trace out "X," "2," "4" and "Y" next to the "Z" with the marker.
- 3). Remove the stencil to check the accuracy and positioning of the label you just made. Adjust the letters and numbers as necessary by wiping them off with water and a cloth and retracing them in with the stencil and marker to finish.
