Quick Fix for Stretch Marks

    Vitamin C

    • Vitamin C is important in healing stretch marks, as Vitamin C is known to heal scar tissue. Increase your daily intake of foods rich in Vitamin C to three servings per day. Eat fresh fruits such as oranges, papaya, grapefruit, peaches and nectarines. Vitamin C tablets can also be taken daily, but are not as effective as a fresh piece of fruit loaded with nutrients.

    Vitamin E

    • Vitamin E works great in getting rid of stretch marks, because it keeps skin tissue healthy. Purchase a tube of Vitamin E cream or a bottle of Vitamin E capsules. Rub the cream over the stretch marks two to three times per day, or break open one of the capsules and massage the Vitamin E oil into the stretch mark scars. You can also ingest one capsule each day, which may have stronger benefits when mixed with a Vitamin E skin application. You should start to see results in about a week, and after about 4-5 weeks of use, stretch mark lines should be nearly unnoticeable.

    Zinc

    • Eating foods rich in zinc will also heal stretch marks and prevent them from occurring. Incorporate two to three servings of zinc into your daily diet. Zinc-rich foods include lean cuts of beef, pork and chicken, as well as dairy products.

    Vapor Rub

    • VapoRub is one of the remedies found to heal stretch marks. While some say it is because of the petroleum base found in petroleum jelly, many people are now using vapor rub to heal stretch marks. Apply VapoRub directly to the stretch marks after showering, while skin pores are open and will easily absorb the rub. After about two weeks of VapoRub, lines should be greatly diminished.

    Cocoa Butter

    • Cocoa butter is one of the best ways to get rid of stretch marks quickly, and also one of the best known remedies. Apply cocoa butter lotion or cocoa butter stick directly to the stretch marks two to three times per day. This will increase skin elasticity. Use cocoa butter lotion daily to keep stretch marks at bay. Using cocoa butter two to three times per day will have stretch marks faded within two to three weeks, but continue to use cocoa butter as a daily moisturizer to keep stretch marks from developing in the future.

    Water

    • Drink at least two liters of water every day, to keep the body hydrated, as well as the skin. If the skin is hydrated, it will keep skin elastic.

    Microdermabrasion

    • Microdermabrasion is a more costly way to get rid of stretch marks, but works very quickly. A machine or chemical peel is used to remove the top layer of the skin, where stretch marks are most apparent. Many high-end spas and cosmetic surgeons offer this service.

    Endermologie

    • Endermologie is another costly professional procedure, but works quickly, and is painless. Endermologie machines are designed to massage the skin, increasing blood flow and circulation in the stretch mark area. This is designed to flush toxins and impurities out of the skin, thereby reducing or removing stretch marks altogether.

    Surgery

    • Surgery is another quick fix for stretch mark removal, and is the most expensive procedure. A tummy tuck removes some of the skin under the belly button, where stretch marks commonly form. Other cosmetic surgery options are available depending on the area of the body that contains the stretch marks, and you should visit a plastic surgeon to find out what will best suit your needs.
