- 1). Place the hat in a lingerie laundry bag. These bags are thin so that the water can still get to the hat but it won't cause it to unravel. You can also substitute knee-high pantyhose in a pinch.
- 2). Put the hat in the washer and use a delicate setting with hot water.
- 3). Dry the hat in the dryer on high heat. The extra heat will help shrink the hat a little during the drying process.
