- 1). Install the first layer of house wrap. Unroll and stretch the house wrap tight so it is not baggy. Secure the edge of the house wrap to the house using staples and a staple gun. Start from the bottom of the house and work your way up. Have an assistant help you pull and hold the house wrap as you secure it in place with staples. Only staple on the edge of the wrap so you can cover the staples with the next layer of house wrap.
- 2). Place the next piece of house wrap so it overlaps the first piece by at least one foot and covers the staples. Secure this layer by taping it to the first layer. Do not use staples again to secure the house wrap. Climb the ladder when you can no longer reach to secure the house wrap by working from the ground.
- 3). Wrap the remainder of the house, working your way to the top. Use the tape to secure the remainder of the house wrap to each previous piece, leaving no exposed areas. Using the scissors, cut holes in the house wrap to expose areas for the windows.
