How to Change the Color of Your Fridge
- 1). Empty and unplug the refrigerator, and move it outside. Position the refrigerator on a layer of newspaper away from your home or any other structures to avoid getting spray paint on them.
- 2). Scrub the outside of the refrigerator with hot, soapy water and a nonabrasive scrubbing pad to remove grease and dirt. If the refrigerator is dirty, the paint will not adhere.
- 3). Rinse the refrigerator with cool water to remove all of the soap, and dry it thoroughly with a clean towel.
- 4). Cover the refrigerator handle with painter's tape, if you do not want to paint the handle.
- 5). Spray paint the refrigerator with appliance paint. This paint is specially formulated to stick to the smooth, slick surface of most appliances. Wear a face mask to avoid inhaling the paint.
- 6). Wait at least two hours for the paint to dry, and then apply a second coat of appliance paint.
- 7). Remove the painter's tape when the paint is completely dry, and return the refrigerator to your kitchen.
