Leadership and Your Own Body

103 8
"Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right.
" Henry Ford, the great automobile visionary once spoke these words.
It is a simple and familiar idea, but in terms of fitness that is exactly the mind set you need to have to get the body you envision for yourself.
Envision your body in the absolute best shape you can.
Burn that image in your mind.
That is your ultimate fitness goal.
Is this goal impossible, or within your reach? You tell me.
Having a positive mindset, taking responsibility for yourself, and holding yourself accountable are solid steps you can take to lead your body to your ultimate fitness goals.
Your thoughts are a powerful key in establishing successful leadership in your own body.
In my own experience as a runner, I find that as I am running, positive thoughts spur me on and even energize my every step.
If I begin to think about pain or tired legs, I start to lose stamina, and my pace actually slows.
As you work towards your ultimate body keeping positive and encouraging thoughts will improve your workouts.
Think back to the image of your ultimate body.
Here's a huge secret in accomplishing your goal: It will only be obtained by you! No one else can do it for you.
Taking responsibility for your body and holding yourself accountable is the only way to lead yourself to the best body you've envisioned.
If you have a workout partner, it is a great way to hold yourself to workouts, but even then, it is up to you! Think about how great your body feels after a good run or a weightlifting session.
Use these feelings as a "reward" or fuel for positive motivation.
Many people struggle with trying "squeeze in" a work out into their schedule.
Fight the urge to miss a work out by telling yourself how great you feel afterward and that it is one step closer to achieving your goals.
Remember, your body is your responsibility.
Learn all you can about it, and be the leader your own body needs.
Always stay focused on your goals with a positive mindset, and hold yourself accountable to accomplish them.
Are these goals within your reach? Only you can decide, and whether you think yes or no, you're right.
