Triple Barrel Curling Iron Techniques

    All-Over Curls

    • To achieve all-over wave curls, make sure your hair is clean and dry. Spritz a heat-protective serum over your head, lightly covering your hair. Once the serum is dry, pin the top sections of hair to the crown of your head so you can start working on the bottom sections first. Clamp the triple barrel curling iron about 1/2 inch away from the root of each section, hold for five seconds, and release. Work your way down each section of hair, until each section is curled from root to tip. Release the hair you've pinned on top of your hair and repeat with these sections. Once you've completed each section, spray your hair with a flexible-hold hairspray to ensure your lovely waves can move and bounce.

    1920s Hairstyle

    • Though this style works best with shorter hair, almost any length of hair will work. Part your hair on the side and perform the same curling techniques as you would for all-over curls. Once you've curled each section of hair and sprayed it with hairspray, tuck the hair behind your ears. Pin the section with the most hair behind your ear to ensure it doesn't move. If you have longer hair, secure the back half of your hair into a bun at the nape of your neck. Tuck the front sections behind your ears and secure them with pins. Hide any stray hairs under the bun.

    Curly Ponytail

    • A funkier hairstyle is the half-straight, half-curly ponytail. This style has appeared on fashion runways in past seasons. To achieve this look, apply a light gel to the hair closest to your scalp. Comb your hair to ensure there are no bumps. Tie your hair into a high ponytail using a ponytail holder. Now, spritz the rest of your hair with heat-resistant spray and curl each section using the triple barrel curling iron. You should end up with hair that is completely straight on the top of your head, and curly hair that appears to flow out of your ponytail holder.

    Hippie Hair

    • To achieve a looser hairstyle using a triple barrel curling iron, make sure you have clean, dry hair. Allowing your hair to dry naturally is best for this natural hairstyle. Take a small section of hair from just above your ear on both sides of your head. Make sure the section isn't on the top of your head. Spritz each section with heat-protecting serum and let it dry. Then, curl each section with your curling iron and spray with hairspray. Pull the right section over your forehead, creating the look of a braided headpiece. Secure this section on the other side with a few bobby pins. Repeat with the left section. This hairstyle works great in the summer with a flowing day dress.
