How to Make Anti-Slip on Alligator Clips
- 1). Unroll the no-slip shelf liner, the rubber kind with little bumps that are separated by spaces, on top of your cutting surface. You will not need to unroll the whole package but give yourself plenty of room to work.
- 2). Count up to seven spaces starting in the bottom left-hand corner of the no-slip shelf liner. Mark a line going across the liner with the permanent marker. Then count two spaces over and make another line going down the liner. The area marked off should be a 7- by 2-space rectangle.
- 3). Cut the liner with either your scissors or a craft knife along the permanent marker lines. Set the rectangle aside and repeat until you have enough grips for your child's bows or until you run out of liner.
- 4). Heat up your hot glue gun. Apply a small line of hot glue on the inside of your alligator clip while holding the clip open. Lay the no-slip grip on top of the hot glue and try to line the edges of the grip up with the edges of the alligator clip. Press down on the grip with the popsicle stick so that you do not burn your fingers.
