How to Draw a Normal Car
- 1). Draw the hood of the car as a horizontal line slanting upward slightly. Turn upward sharply at the windshield, angling up and back. Keep in mind that the car is built to be aerodynamic and thus the profile of the car will be free of hard corners and 90-degree angles.
- 2). Draw the roof of the car at the top of the windshield, represented by a horizontal line that begins to curve downward slightly near the back.
- 3). Angle the line downward sharply and at the rear window, then level out the line at the trunk so that the trunk is level with the hood of the car where it met the windshield.
- 4). Draw a line over the top of the trunk with a near-horizontal line that angles downward slightly as it moves backward.
- 5). Draw downward sharply at the end of the trunk, then turn the line around when it reaches the underside of the car. The line around the profile of the car should start heading back to the front of the car.
- 6). Draw a straight line underneath the car, back to the front. Angle upward to meet the line at the front of the hood.
- 7). Draw two circular wheels over the line you drew under the car--one at the front and one at the back. Erase the line of the car that appears through the wheels.
- 8). Draw a narrow rectangle at the front of the car under the hood. Round the edges. This is a headlight.
- 9). Draw a tall rectangle inside the edge of the back of the car. This is the taillight.
- 10
Draw the windows on the side of the car. The sides and top of the window will trace the inside of the area under the hood of the car, leaving only a small space between the window and the edge of the car. The bottom of the window will be level with the top of the trunk and the top of the hood, cutting straight across the body. - 11
Draw a vertical line straight down the middle of the window you drew in step 10, if the car is a four-door. If the car is a two-door, draw a vertical line bisecting the window two-thirds of the way back. - 12
Draw a line down the front of the door(s) and the rear of the door(s), identifying the edges of the door from the rest of the car.
