How to Setup a Mugen MRX3 for a Drag Race
- 1). Visit a hobby shop and speak with the customer service representative. Bring your vehicle to explain what modifications are needed and to allow them to see the current set up of your car.
- 2). Purchase a lighter vehicle body, slick tires and wheelie bars for your Mugen MRX3. Do not purchase any type of engine modifications unless the rules of the upcoming drag race allow you to do so. Modifying the engine of your car may disqualify you if the vehicle is classified as being too strong for the race.
- 3). Install the lighter body onto the frame of your Mugen MRX3. The lighter frame will help your car with overall top speed and acceleration. The body will snap into place over the top of the frame and will lock when pressed down.
- 4). Install the wheelie bars on the back of the vehicle. Wheelie bars will help keep your car on the ground. The Mugen MRX3 has a light body frame and, if enough air gets under the vehicle while it travels at a high speed, it can lift off the ground. When it comes back down the car will suffer damage and may no longer function correctly.
- 5). Install the slick racing tires to the back of the Mugen MRX3. Drag racing vehicles use slick, large back tires to help with traction at the start of the race. Make sure the tires are securely screwed into place. They should not move back and forth while turning in place.
- 6). Test out the modifications to your Mugen MRX3 before the race. Time your vehicle to ensure that the modifications have made improvements to your vehicle.
